The title refers to the article of the same name by, Walker Percy, in the collection of essays, "Message in the Bottle." The article focuses on the tension created between the object and its name. Percy uses anectdotal evidence to suggest that, often, "authentic poetic experience" is caused by mistake.

This music, and the rendering that is presented with it, are linked in time, but not necessarily in meaning. Both pieces were created during a summer on 16th Ave.S in Birmingham, Al.
